We’re all on a mission to tap into the Source, follow our cosmic design, and manifest the life that we all deserve, and live the hell out of it, right? I know that this is my mission, and it will be for as long as I continue to draw air on this planet.  As I accomplish goals, I’ll organically create new goals.  The amount of experiences that life will offer us are infinite.  So, I don’t know about you, but I’m going to stay thirsty, as it is contributes to my evolution.  I hope that you all feel the same way about yours.

But, can you honestly say that you are doing everything that you can to achieve the things (how ever major or minute) that you have set out to do?  Yes, the Universe, the Gods, the Source, (whatever you call your higher power) has your back and will take care of you.  However, you still have to do your part of the work, and believe.

Get Out of Your Own Way!

Do you get  in the way of your progress? Most likely, you do — even if only ever so often.  I know that I have the tendency to become bored and lazy and to put things off; this is a very bad habit to have. It’s not good, because bad habits can have a greater chance of becoming long term habits than good habits do.  In other words, it’s harder to snap out of laziness than it is to become active and then stay active.  The longer that you’re inactive, the more difficult it will be for you to power up, making you find yourself even farther from the realization of your dreams, and it becomes easiest to give up and submit to the lifestyle that you are currently in.  Obviously, you are not too happy in the current state of your life, or you are in need of some sort of change, otherwise you wouldn’t have devised a plan to make changes in the first place.

Likely, we’ve all shared common reasons for dragging our feet as we are on the path to our own happiness.  To be frank, we’ve got to stop doing that shit!

1- Looking For An Easy Answer

Whatever it is that you are seeking, will probably not come to you easily — and that’s a good thing! The things that you work hard for, usually lasts longer. You’ll have a greater appreciation for the things that you’ve invested time and care into. That time, work, blood, sweat, and tears that you’ve contributed to said project will always remind you to take care of the investment that you’ve made in yourself.  It won’t be easy, and it won’t happen quickly, but it will be worth it.

Don’t give up.  Be patient. A hard victory is more valuable than an easy win.

2- Becoming Distracted

A human mind that has not tapped into the Source, or does not believe in their potential, is easily distracted.  I’ve told you that we all have to follow our cosmic designs, but keep this in mind: there are other designs in your orbit, and some of them are working against you. You’re most susceptible of these destructive spirits when you are off guard — distracted.

Stay focused on the goal, and see it through.  Find an environment that allows you to work on your project(s) in peace — free of distractions.  Turn off your phone, and any other mobile devices that you have. Temporarily deactivate your social media accounts, until you are disciplined enough to not allow any of those things to take your attention away from your goals. You’re in this… to win this.  Don’t stop until you do.

3- Taking Unscheduled Breaks

If you are new to working on personal projects, SCHEDULE YOUR BREAKS! Create a reasonable schedule, and stick to it (especially in the beginning stages of a new endeavor).  Why do you think employers schedule their employees’ breaks? It’s because humans — left to their own devices — will take advantage of that situation by taking extended breaks.  Scheduling your breaks will keep you honest with yourself and your goals. (Editor’s Note: Plan your breaks, don’t break your plans!)

4- Doubting Yourself

In reinventing yourself, or working towards goals, undoubtedly at some point, you’ll become frustrated and quit, or you’ll scrap the whole project and grudgingly start over.  It’s happened to me hundreds of times. Humans are emotional beings, and when things go left, we begin doubting ourselves. It happens! Always remember the attitude that you had when you started your venture. You had vigor, and you believed that you could do it. Were this not true, you wouldn’t have even bothered to try.  Keep the bigger picture in mind at all times.  And, keep a clear mental picture of what your life is now, as well as what you want it to be.  Or, do what I do (sometimes), think of all of the people who think you’re crazy for trying something different, and don’t believe that you’re capable of making it happen.  Let them be the doubters, while you are a believer.

5- Blatant Disbelief

To set a goal that you don’t believe you are capable of reaching is an act of futility.  As Prince once said, “Take yo time, think it through/ if this is what you wanna do“. How bad do you want to accomplish your dreams and goals? Take time and make a conscious decision as to whether or not you believe yourself to be competent enough to push forward.  If you can’t visualize yourself doing the work (and winning in the end) it ain’t gonna happen, Cap’n!

Look To That Which Encourages You

Whenever you find yourself slipping away from the prize that you most definitely deserve, do whatever you have to do to snap yourself out of it, and get back on track. In the case of me, I use safe words that takes my mind off of negativity and bad spirits that threaten to interfere with my progress (alkaline and merkaba are my favorites).  I also think of my ancestors, who never had the opportunities that I have — to be who, what, and where I want to be. Additionally, think of the many people in my life that I care about and who care about me.  I think of how important their opinions of me are to me.  I can handle them seeing me fail (I can only fail if I’m trying; they know that.)  If I give up on myself, their opinions would change, and I don’t want that.  It’s added pressure, but it’s positive pressure.  It keeps my head in the game.

Be Inspired!

Find your inspiration and use it to inspire others.  Never forget that you are great, and you deserve all of the greatness that the Universe has for you!

“One of the lessons that I grew up with was to always stay true to yourself and never let what somebody else says distract you from your goals. And so when I hear about negative and false attacks, I really don’t invest any energy in them, because I know who I am.”
